Knobless: Restock of Grey expected 19th Feb. Other colours in stock!

Knob: Expected mid-February

The Keychron Q1 is the latest keyboard from Keychron, and their first 'barebones' style keyboard chassis, designed so that customers can customise their typing experience by selection the switches, keycaps and other accessories which suit their tastes. This product does not include any of these items, so they will have to be purchased separately to make a complete keyboard. The kit does include a set of Gateron stabilisers pre-fitted to the board.

The knob edition includes a pre-installed knob, along with a redesigned gasket system, more powerful processor, a heavier base, and a steel plate. It also has improved compatibility with third-party keycaps, thanks to sharper corners on the top case.

There has been a lot of positive hype about this board, and it's sure to make custom keyboards more accessible to everyone. It's often difficult to find custom keyboard chassis in-stock and ready to go, but finally there are some decent options for those who don't want to wait a year for a custom keyboard group-buy.

Here are Alexotos' thoughts on the Keychron Q1:

Lighting Per-key RGB
Connectivity USB Type-C
Cable USB-C, coiled (knobless only), detachable
Software VIA or QMK
Dimensions  327.5 x 145 x 34.8mm
Weight 1.5kg (knobless) - ~1.75kg (knob)
Extras included USB-C to A adapter, switch puller, keycap puller, screwdriver, hex key
