Each pack contains 120 films. The film thickness is 0.15mm.
Because keyboard switches are made in their thousands, there is often very little difference between two switches of the same type. However, subtle differences, particularly between switches from different batches, can lead to inconsistent key sound. One of the main causes of this is a difference in fitment between the top and bottom housing.
These films are designed to create a tighter fit between the housing parts, eliminating any rattle, and also potentially helping with other alignment problems such as stem wobble and binding.
This product is particularly useful on cheaper switches which tend to use higher tolerances in their production. They can make a budget switch sound more 'premium'.
Note that these films are double-sided to provide the best grip between different plastics. The matte side grips best on polycarbonate, and the shiny side is designed for nylon. This means that for most switches, the matte side should be facing upwards, and the shiny side down. That being said, it doesn't really matter.
